Day 1
Before I confessed my sins, my bones felt limp, and I groaned all day long. ... So I confessed my sins and told them all to you. I said, "I'll tell the LORD each one of my sins." Then you forgave me and took away my guilt. (Psalm 32.3 & 5, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 2
I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are. But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven. That sin will be held against you forever. Jesus said this because the people were saying that he had an evil spirit in him. (Mark 3.28-30, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 3
When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the crippled man, "My friend, your sins are forgiven." The Pharisees and the experts began arguing, "Jesus must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins." Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said, "Why are you thinking like that?" (Luke 5.20-22, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 4
With all my heart I praise the LORD, and with all that I am I praise his holy name! With all my heart I praise the LORD! I will never forget how kind he has been. The LORD forgives our sins, heals us when we are sick, and protects us from death. (Psalm 103.1-3, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 5
No more than two or three of you should speak unknown languages during the meeting. You must take turns, and someone should always be there to explain what you mean. If no one can explain, you must keep silent in church and speak only to yourself and to God. (1 Corinthians 14.27-28, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 6
(Paul wrote) Don't correct an older man. Encourage him, as you would your own father. Treat younger men as you would your own brother, and treat older women as you would your own mother. Show the same respect to younger women that you would to your sister. (1 Timothy 5.1-2, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 7
Then Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven." Some other guests started saying to one another, "Who is this who dares to forgive sins?" But Jesus told the woman, "Because of your faith, you are now saved. May God give you peace!" (Luke 7.48-50, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 8
Then he (King Jehoshaphat) explained his plan and appointed men to march in front of the army and praise the LORD for his holy power by singing: "Praise the LORD! His love never ends." As soon as they began singing, the LORD confused the enemy camp, so that the Ammonite and Moabite troops attacked and completely destroyed those from Edom. (2 Chronicles 20.21-23, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 9
(Jesus said) I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn't like the peace that this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid. You have already heard me say that I am going and that I will also come back to you. (John 14.27-28, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 10
(LORD), I can't stand liars, but I love your Law. I praise you seven times a day because your laws are fair. You give peace of mind to all who love your law. Nothing can make them fall. (Psalm 119.163-165, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 11
The high priest stood up in the council and asked Jesus, "Why don't you say something in your own defense? Don't you hear the charges they are making against you?" But Jesus kept quiet and did not say a word. The high priest asked him another question, "Are you the Messiah, the son of the glorious God?" "Yes, I am!" Jesus answered. (Mark 14.60-62, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 12
What we mean is that God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace. We were sent to speak for Christ, and God is begging you to listen to our message. We speak for Christ and sincerely ask you to make peace with God. (2 Corinthians 5.19-20, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 13
Then the LORD said: Abram, you will live to an old age and die in peace. But I solemnly promise that your descendants will live as foreigners in a land that doesn't belong to them. They will be forced into slavery and abused for four hundred years. But I will terribly punish the nation that enslaves them, and they will leave with many possessions. (Genesis 15.13-15, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 14
You will tell his people that they can be saved when their sins are forgiven. God's love and kindness will shine upon us like the sun that rises in the sky. On us who live in the dark shadow of death this light will shine to guide us into a life of peace. (Luke 1.77-79, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 15
(God said) Faithfully obey my laws, and I will send rain to make your crops grow and your trees produce fruit. Your harvest of grain and grapes will be so abundant, that you won't know what to do with it all. You will eat and be satisfied, and you will live in safety. I will bless your country with peace, and you will rest without fear. (Leviticus 26.3-6, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 16
Be on your guard against any followers who refuse to obey what we have written in this letter. Put them to shame by not having anything to do with them. Don't consider them your enemies, but speak kindly to them as you would to any other follower. I pray that the Lord, who gives peace, will always bless you with peace. (2 Thessalonians 3.14-16, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 17
All kinds of troubles will strike the wicked, but your kindness shields those who trust you, LORD. And so your good people should celebrate and shout. (Psalm 32.10-11, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 18
They (disciples) shouted, "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory to God." Some Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, make your disciples stop shouting!" But Jesus answered, "If they keep quiet, these stones will start shouting." (Luke 19.38-40, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 19
Some think it is all right to eat anything, while those whose faith is weak will eat only vegetables. But you should not criticize others for eating or not eating. After all, God welcomes everyone. What right do you have to criticize someone else's servants? Only their Lord can decide if they are doing right, and the Lord will make sure that they do right. (Romans 14.2-4, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 20
From your home above you send rain on the hills and water the earth. You let the earth produce grass for cattle, plants for our food, wine to cheer us up, olive oil for our skin, and grain for our health. (Psalm 104.13-15, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 21
They put a purple robe on him, and on his head they placed a crown that they had made out of thorn branches. They made fun of Jesus and shouted, "Hey, you king of the Jews!" Then they beat him on the head with a stick. They spit on him and knelt down and pretended to worship him. (Mark 15.16-19, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 22
Too much pride will destroy you. You are better off to be humble and poor than to get rich from what you take by force. If you know what you are doing, you will prosper. God blesses everyone who trusts him. Good judgment proves that you are wise, and if you speak kindly, you can each others. (Proverbs 16.18-21, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 23
There is only one Spirit of God, just as you were given one hope when you were chosen to be God's people. We have only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. There is one God who is the Father of all people. (Ephesians 4.4-6, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
Day 24
Hiram gave Solomon all the cedar and pine logs he needed. In return, Solomon gave Hiram about one hundred twenty-five thousand bushels of wheat and about one thousand one hundred gallons of pure olive oil each year. The LORD kept his promise and made Solomon wise. Hiram and Solomon signed a treaty and never went to war against each other. (1 Kings 5.10-12, CEV, Canadian Bible Society)
