Canadian Bible Society chooses new Director
TORONTO, ON The Canadian Bible Society (CBS) has announced that its new National Director is to be the Rev Ted Seres.
Mr Seres has served on the Board of the South Central Ontario District of CBS for some time and has been the district’s representative on the Society’s Board of Governors.
Over recent years, he has also been the coordinator of various national ministries in the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. They have included Cultural, Aboriginal, Deaf, Chaplaincy and Social Concerns ministries. Between 1985 and 2000 he pastored a number of church congregations.
Announcing the appointment, Brian Strom, the Chairman of the Society, said that Mr Seres had been the Board’s unanimous choice.
“There are significant organisational and financial challenges facing us,” he said, “and we are looking forward to working with Ted in the challenging and exciting times ahead.
“I also want to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the Rev Phyllis Nesbitt for her interim leadership over the past three years,” he added. “We wish her God’s continued blessing as she enters the next chapter of her life.”
Mr Seres is due to take up his new position on June 18.
