STUDENTS AT PEOPLES CHRISTIAN ACADEMY AND PIZZA PIZZA SUPPORT MILITARY BIBLES
Toronto, ON - June 22, 2009 A choir comprised of the Grades 5 & 6 classes from the Peoples Christian Academy (PCA) in Toronto, sang the Canadian and American national anthems at the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball game at the Rogers Centre, on May18, 2009.
The choir was granted the opportunity to designate a portion of the ticket sales from that game, ($5 from every ticket sold by PCA faculty/staff & students) to a charitable organization of their choice. The Academy selected the Canadian Bible Society's (CBS) Operation Bible project, which distributes Military Bibles to Canadian Forces personnel.
Ted Seres, CBS National Director, was very pleased to receive a cheque at the Blue Jays game for $1,930. Also, when Pizza Pizza learned about what the students at the Academy were doing at the Blue Jays Game, they offered to donate $250 to CBS on behalf of the students, and they also provided a pizza lunch for every student at the Academy.
Rev. Seres appreciated the opportunity to visit the Peoples Christian Academy end-of-year assembly to thank the students and to receive a $250.00 cheque from a Pizza Pizza representative.
Elizabeth, a student at Peoples Christian Academy in grade six, sent this heartfelt message to CBS: "I am very pleased that a six grader like me can make a difference in the lives of our brave soldiers. Please tell our soldiers I am praying for them. I am glad someone decided to make the Canadian Bible Society. Without you, our soldiers wouldn't be able to nurture their spirits with God's Word. Without you our world would crumble. Thank you. May the Lord bless you. "
Very special thanks to students at Peoples Christian Academy and to Pizza Pizza, for choosing to partner with the Canadian Bible Society in this valuable and effective ministry - placing God's life-giving Word into the waiting hands of Canadian men and women in uniform.

Together, with 145 national Bible Societies worldwide, 380 million Scriptures were distributed last year.
